Sales Manager (NST)| Victor, NY

New Scale is seeking a hands-on Sales Manager who will be responsible for all bookings for New Scale Technologies (NST). You will engage customers and prospects worldwide who value simplified integration, enhanced performance, smaller size, and faster deployment. NST products are used worldwide by medical instruments manufacturers, smart phone cameras suppliers, extended reality developers, neuroscience laboratories and many others. NST business segments include OEM products, Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) of customer-funded projects, and Multi-Probe Micromanipulators (MPM).

You will be expected to use consultative selling methods. For example see: The Smart Sales Method: The CEO’s Guide To Improving Sales Results For B2B Technology Sales Teams.
• Effectively use the CEO and in-house mechatronics engineering team to qualify new leads and create winning proposals.
• Manage our world-wide network of sales consultants, representatives, and distributors.
• Prioritize accounts with forecasted revenue greater than $1M over 5 years.
• Create and achieve bookings forecasts that meet company objectives for 30% growth per year.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and demonstrate excellent communication and prioritization skills.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Monitor all incoming customer and prospect communications and respond or delegate as appropriate to team members.
    Qualify business opportunities, using consultative discovery calls supported by the CEO and other experts in the company.
  • For qualified accounts, engage the full company as needed to create compelling quotes and customized “smart” proposals that meet business, technical, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Negotiate and book orders following a consultative selling process.
  • Manage NST sales channels including consultants, partners, distributors, and representatives.
  • Receive and verify purchase orders details with in-house team. Send order acknowledgements to customer.
  • Manage the customer relationship through order, production, shipment, payment and repeat order.
  • Create and share quarterly sales forecasts with operations.

For all the above, use the company CRM (Sales Force) and ERP (Syteline) and our established procedures to enter and track all sales activities (leads, contacts, opportunities, specifications, quotes, orders, contracts, etc.)

Lead sales review meetings, support marketing meetings, and other meetings as needed.

Travel to support trade shows, visit qualified customers, train sales partners, etc.

Support marketing activities including prospecting campaigns, promotions etc.

Other duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to sit or stand and move about the facility
  • Travel <33% of time, for up to two weeks at a time

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Associate Degree in a relevant field or commensurate experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience in inside sales, sales administration, or a similar role
  • Experience with a CRM tool preferred, ideally Salesforce
  • Experience with an ERP tool preferred, ideally SyteLine
  • Proficient skills with MS office tools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A demonstrated aptitude for technical sales and high-level understanding of mechatronic systems
  • Experience selling business-to-business and closing OEM orders
  • A basic understanding of consultative sales principles and customer service practices
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills
  • The ability to multitask many small projects and flexibly adjust priorities.

 

Precision Assembly Technician | Victor, NY

New Scale is seeking Precision Assembly Technicians to build micro precision motion modules.  Join our Team as we continue to experience 30% year over year growth with our disruptive technology serving customers in biomedical, DNA sequencing, neuroscience, and optics markets.  

Responsibilities include assembling, wiring, soldering, assembly, final testing and adjusting precision units.  Work is performed in a clean laboratory environment with temperature control.  Most work is performed while sitting at a work station. In most cases, you will use instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

As a technician your expertise will be called upon to support current manufacturing techniques.  You will be required to meet specific schedules for production on a daily and weekly basis at defined quality levels.  You will take direction from a supervisor, and will work under the technical direction of product and process engineering as assigned.

You may be asked to perform shipping and/or receiving activities on a regular basis. You will operate any equipment needed to perform job, and perform related duties as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry but detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
